Very solid DT performer and was a constant fixture in premiership calculations, however did not go that extra step.

Regular Season

Great round 1 rocketed Valk up to 1st spot, before he faded to 20th at the end of round 7. That would be the last and only time Valk would be outside the top 16 though, winning his next 6 matches to set his season up. From there, the wins came consistently, and he finished 14th in the Overall comptetition, 7th in the All-Stars conference.

Knock-Out Cup

Seeded 6th, valkorum knocked out 8-6 Suited in week 1 comfortably, but fell to BratPack in week 2.

Finals

Stunning first up Overall match, defeating McRooster by 21 points in a 2,326-2,305 epic to advance to the final 8. However, could not get past eventual Runners-Up Marcz in week 2, but would finish the year in 5th spot.

Eliminated ossie85 in the All-Stars elimination final, but fell short to MTTY by 79 points in the Semi-finals.

Rivalries

McRooster was the only team Valk played more than twice, and had a positive record him, winning 2 from 3. Of the teams he played twice, he defeated Boomz, elephants and Flame both times to show his quality, but lost to browny_wce and Junktimer both times.

Incredible season, a massive trophy cabinet, but in the end probably lacked one little thing – a premiership.

Regular Season

First off, hail to the Fantasy Champion! 24 coaches last year entered both SC and DT, and thornz23 scored the most combined points – 104,875. That should be a clue of how good a season he had.

In DT, a relatively slow start had him in 24th place after round 7, but after that won 18 of his next 23 matches – including two streaks of 6 – to rocket him up to 7th spot on the ladder, with plenty of momentum going into the finals. It was enough for him to take out the Victorian Minor Premiership with a 11-4 record (meaning his record against All-Stars was 10-6).

In SC, was always in the top 16, and improved rapidly as the season went on, and after round 12, found himself in top spot. He would stay there for much of the season, and a 3 game streak at the end allowed thornz to take out the Overall Minor Premiership by percentage ahead of Junktimer, and finish a game clear on top of the Victorian SC League.

Meaning, of the 4 Minor Premierships he was eligible to win – thornz23 won 3 of them. A terrific effort.

Knock-Out Cup

In DT, defeated MajorLazer in week 1 and Junktimer in week 2 to qualify for the final 8, but went down by only 25 points to Brat Pack and would finish 5th.

In SC, edged out the more highly fancied hawk_88, but in week 2 was again knocked out by BratPack.

Finals

Wondering if we should change thornz23’s name to bronze23 or thornz3? Why? Because in each of the four finals series, thornz would finish 3rd. Unfortunately, we don’t give out bronze medals :(.

Overall DT: Comfortable defeated MTTY in week 1 by 157 points, and took out elephants in week 2 by 123 points to qualify for the final 4. However, Marcz would upset him in week 3, and thornz had to play off for 3rd against Prospector.

Victorian DT: Defeated hawk_26 in the qualifying final to go straight to the Preliminary finals, but lost to Prospector by 60 points, and would play off for 3rd against bunyip.

After scoring the highest score in the last round of DT, thornz must wonder what might have been.

Overall SC: An extremely tough first up match with the Minor Premiership almost being upset by MajorLazer, but thornz held his nerve to win by 36 points. Much more comfortable in week 2, smashing BoredSaint by 193 points. Again would fall short in the final 4, losing to eventual premier CFC 1979, and defeated Junktimer in the 3rd place play off.

Victorian SC: An epic 2,535-2,462 loss to CFC 1979 in the qualifying final, meant thornz had to go about this final series the hard way. Defeated DazBurg in the semi-finals by 121 points, and would heartbreakingly go down by only TWO points to Junktimer in the Preliminary finals.

Four Preliminary finals, Four losses. That has to sting a bit.

Rivalries

A lot of terrific rivalries, including playing Junktimer a record a 6 times for a 3-3 ledger which encompassed many finals! A 2-2 record against BratPack, where BratPack knocked him out twice in the KO Cup, a 1-3 record against 4-time Premier CFC 1979, a 2-2 record against Prospector and a 1-3 record against Marcz.

A specialist at elimination style games, roo boys! salvaged an otherwise disappointing season.

Regular Season

Winning only 1 of his first 12 matches, rb was firmly planted on the bottom of the ladder for much of the season. It wasn’t until Round 12 when he lifted himself up, and between rounds 10 and 18 won 9 of his 16 matches, which ever so briefly lifted him out of the bottom 4. However, losing the last 3 landed him in 30th spot.

Knock-Out Cup

A dreadful start to the season had rb seeded last, and left facing the #1 seed Cruiseon in week 1 of the KO Cup. In what should have been a walkover, but rb had one of the upsets of the season, defeating Cruiseon by 82 points. Continuing his form, rb then narrowly defeated the bomberboy/Luigi combo by 22 points to qualify for the final 8! However, MTTY ended the fairytale in week 3, but roo boys would finish a more than respectable 6th.

Finals

Even though after the regular season roo boys! sat 3rd last, he still knew there was a chance to qualify for the 2012 Champions League. Things started off well, defeating the luckless Hellopplz in week 1 by 27 points, and followed that up with a 84 point victory over ossie85. Effectively knocking out HP and rb from Championship League contention, for which he will pay for ;). Continued his impressive run, and defeated McRooster, to officially qualify for the Champions League. Lost the 17th place play off against hawk_88, but rb would have to be happy with that. Turned a 30th minor premiership into an 18th premiership.

Rivalries

Only played one team more than twice – naste for a 1-2 record. Defeated Cruiseon, dylsta05 and Hellopplz 2 from 2 times, and lost to MTTY twice. I know ossie85 is out for revenge though.

Entertaining team, but cellar-dweller would be the way to describe Rob!

Regular Season

A great way to start the DT season, winning 6 matches in a row between rounds 2 and 8, and sat in 8th spot. However, after that, the wins only trickled in, and Rob slowly slipped down the ladder, to eventually finish 26th.

Similarly, a decent start had Rob sitting in 7th spot after round 8, and was still in the top 16 after Round 12. But only won 1 of his last 13 matches to slip down to 27th spot.

Knock-Out Cup

Knocked out by BratPack in week 1 of DT, would finish 20th.

Defeated by CrowsFan in week 1 of SC, would finish 22nd.

Finals

Not much to say in finals. Avoided the spoon in All-Stars DT, All-Stars SC (just, played off and won against Hilly) and Overall DT.

In Overall SC, lost to ossie85 by 303 points in week 1 and lost by 494 points to Hellopplz in week 2 to qualify for the bottom 4. Things went from bad to worse, with a narrow 59 point loss to Hilly in week 3, to qualify for the Overall Spoon play-off against benjy. Despite benjy clearing being the worst team of the year, Rob took out the spoon, as benjy smashed Rob by 321 points.

Rivalries

Ended up with a 30-55 (35%) record overall. Played ossie85 five times (1-4) and benjy 5 times (2-3). Had Alex covered 3/3 times and Hilly 2/3 times, but dylsta was a problem (1-3).

Contrasting seasons! Clearly a SC specialist as evident by his impressive stats, but DT was a disaster.

Regular Season

A mediocre start to his DT season, and by the end of Round 10 was sitting in 26th spot, with 5 wins from 14 matches. But he quickly turned opinions upside down, winning 8 matches in a row to storm into the top 16 and sit comfortably in 13th position. Wasn’t comfortable enough though, as reesbr would not win another match in the regular season, losing his last 9 matches to slip to 23rd.

A strong start (4/4) matches and consistent wins allowed reesbr to mostly float around in the top 8 throughout the season, and was sitting in 2nd spot at the end of round 12. Lost some momentum towards the end, winning only 6 of his last 13, but still finished in 9th spot.

Knock-Out Cup

Good first week victory over benjy in DT week 1, and upset 4th seed McRooster in week 2. However, lost to CFC 1979 in a very low scoring encounter in week 3 by 72 points, and would finish in 8th spot.

Seeded 2nd in SC, big things were expected of reesbr, and he didn’t disappoint. ALMOST slipped to pyronerd in week 1, winning by only 11 points, but that was the kick start he needed, defeating CFC 1979 by 158 points in week 2. Was lucky again week 3! Incredibly only defeating Barlow 21 by 2 points.

The final 4, reesbr was up against BratPack, who was on a fairy-tale mission at the time. Reesbr couldn’t stop BratPack from advancing to the finals, and reesbr would fall short by 137 points. In the 3rd place play off against MTTY, reesbr scored an incredibly 2,740! Which would be the second highest score of the year. But would not have been enough to defeat KO Champion CrowsFan, who scored 2,762.

Finals

Nothing much to be said in DT for reesbr, not making any major finals, and not doing enough to qualify for Champions League.

In SC Overall, faced off against BoredSaint in week 1, and was eliminated 2,404 to 2,325. In the Victorian SC finals, was eliminated by korza by 4 points. After a terrific season, but not winning any finals, reesbr must count this season as a disappointment.

Rivalries

Played a few teams 4 times with variable results – Amazingly defeated CFC 1979 three from four times to have the mental edge, but Fletch74 (0-4) and MajorLazer (1-3) clearly had the better of him. Had an even ledger against pyronerd (2-2).

Playing with fire is never recommended, but in the end pyronerd only inflicted minor-burns.

Regular Season

In DT, had 4 wins and a draw after 8 rounds to sit in 12th spot. His draw against the chrisuzz – the only draw for the year – proved a handy separator in some ways, as his percentage became irrelevant. Unfortunately, when pyronerd slipped out of the Top 16 in Round 13, he wouldn’t get back in. Losing 9 of his next 13, and sat in 22nd place.

A 6 match losing streak to start the season in SC, had him bottom placed, and pyro never fully recovered. For most of the season was nestled in the bottom 4, before 2 wins in the final round pushed him to 28th spot.

Knock-Out Cup

Great upset in week 1 DT, knocking out 7th seed Prospector_1 to advance to week 2, however hawka26 had him covered, and would finish 12th.

Almost upset the 2nd seed reesbr in the SC KO Cup, but fell only 11 points short. In the lower qualifiers, didn’t have much luck, losing week 2 by 8 points, and week 3 by 32 points, and would finish in 30th spot.

Finals

Little to be said in the finals as he did not make any of the major finals series. He made a decent run to try and qualify for the SC Champions League though, knocking out BratPack in week 1, but couldn’t get past hawk_88 in week 2. Would turn a 28th spot minor premiership spot into a 22nd premiership finish.

Rivalries

Played hawka26 5 times for 3 victories, and had MajorLazer covered 3/3 times. Played a few teams 4 times – Boomz (2-2), ossie85 (1-3) and reesbr (2-2). I’m personally curious to see whether an interesting rivalry between chrisuzz will develop (pyro had only a draw from 2 matches).

You could run, but not hide from Prospector. Sooner or later he’d catch up to you, and belt you with his scoring ability.

Regular Season

It seemed nothing could stop Prospector in DT. Won his first 4, 7 of his first 8, and after Round 12 was sitting top of the ladder and was comfortably the highest point scorer in the league. But out of nowhere, disaster struck. And incredibly Prospector lost his next 8 matches, was only the 21st highest scorer across that period, and was suddenly in danger of missing the finals, sitting tentatively in 15th place. Fortunately, he returned to his winning ways and gained some momentum, winning his last 5 matches. He finished 12th, and would be the highest point scorer for the year in DT, but many would say that was an under achievement.

Slow and steady won the race for Prospector, after Round 11, Prospector was teetering in 23rd spot. But a 9 wins from his next 10 set up the season, eventually finishing 14th and comfortably in the finals.

Knock-Out Cup

Seeded 7th in DT, Propector was shocked by little-known pyronerd in the first round. Would take back some credibility though, and finished a respectable 17th.

In SC, was knocked out by Maca24 in week 1, and finished 19th.

Finals

Overall DT, Prospector comfortably defeated 5th ranked ossie85 in week 1, before taking care of 4th ranked Flame in week 2 to qualify for the final 4. However, he ran into the machine that was CFC 1979, and the league’s top point scorer went down by 126 points, and finished the premiership in 4th spot.

Victorian DT, won his elimination final against BratPack to qualify for the semi-finals. Took on Junktimer in one of the matches of the year, and pipped Junktimer by only 7 points to steal a spot in the Preliminary finals. Met minor-premier thornz23 in the Preliminary Final, and in a relatively low-scoring match, came out the victor by 60 points. Again would meet CFC 1979 in the Victorian Grand Final, but fell agonisingly short of taking a flag, and lost by only 15 points.

Overall SC, Prospector scored a monstrous 2491 to knock MTTY out of the running, but would fall to giant-killer Maca24 in week 2. Surprisingly, Pros didn’t make the Victorian SC finals, but did enough to finish 9th.

Rivalries

Terrific rivalry against CFC 1979, but could only win 1 of there 4 encounters, with CFC defeating him in the Overall DT final 4 and the Victorian DT Grand Final. A more even record against thornz23 (2-2) and Maca24 (2-2) and had mixed results against them in finals. Impressive 52-35 (60%) record overall.

Stunningly handsome, witty and modest, ossie85 by his own accounts would have had a disappointing season, but took some decent scalps.

Regular Season

DT ossie85 was lucky, not a high scorer, but his consistency allowed to win games most weeks (not winning only in rounds 11 and 14). Was in the top 10 most weeks and got as high as 3rd, despite not being one of the large point scorers, and would finish 5th. Had much more success against his Victorian counterparts, with a 12-4 record against them compared to a 9-6 record with All-Stars. This 12-4 record was enough to earn the MVP award in the League Cup, just pipping minor-premier browny_wce for the award.

SC was a different story. Started off terrible, scoring the lowest in the league twice in the first 4 weeks. Struggled to recover form this early start, but winning 9 of 12 matches from rounds 8 to 13 had ossie85 in 13th spot at the end of round 13. Clearly 13 was an unlucky number, as he could only manage 2 wins from his next 11 to limp out of finals contention, and finished 22nd.

Knock-Out Cup

Knocked out in both competitions in the first week, by Boomz in DT and dylsta05 in SC.

Finals

Rigged! I say, rigged! Met up with the league’s top scorer Prospector_1 in the first week of the overall finals, despite finishing 7 spots higher than him, and ossie85’s lack of point scoring ability left him 169 points short.

In the All-Stars DT finals, valkorum had no trouble disposing of ossie85’s premiership hopes with a 142 point victory.

Hope in the SC finals to still qualify for the Champions league, but a loss to roo boys in week 2 all but ended that hope. Took 9th spot in the All-Stars minor finals.

Rivalries

Struggled against the top-notch coaches, korza (1-3) and Prospector (1-3) had him covered. Had a good record against Junktimer (2-1), Marcz (2-1), Hellopplz (2-1) and RobsOverAchievers (4-1).

Always adding a touch of class, wit and wisdom to the elxam leagues, but naste lacked that extra mile to make real in-roads in the competition.

Regular Season

Naste slipped out of DT contention after a strong start to the season which had him in 3rd position, but apart from his 2 wins in round 1, would not win another 2 matches in the same week until Round 17, by which time was way out of contention, and would finish 24th. Some unlucky results, and naste did finish in the top 16 point scorers for the year.

A 6 match losing streak between rounds 8 and 10 was a wound that naste never recovered from. Take those 3 horror rounds away, and he would have finished in the top 16. Alas, SC is a cruel ****, and naste had to settle for 23rd spot.

Knock-Out Cup

Seeded 5th in DT, naste have a big scare in week 1, and could only manage a 9 point victory over DazBurg in week 1. However, results went the other way in week 2, going down by 45 points to CFC 1979.

Seeded 6th in SC, naste fell to BratPack in week 1, and would finish 26th.

Finals

Really nothing to say in the finals. Made none of the finals in any of the 4 competitions, but did enough to avoid even being close to a spoon, and won the DT All-Stars minor finals to finish 9th.

Rivalries

Overall, had a 42-46 (48%) record, which summed up naste’s season nicely – never embarrassed himself, but never challenged either. Played Hilly 5 times for a 4-1 record, Marcz 4 times for a 2-2 and McRooster 4 times for a 1-3.

A behemoth across the league, MTTY cut through teams with ease, and gathered an impressive trophy case.

Regular Season

Slow to get off the mark in DT, MTTY had to build his way into the season. 3 wins from his first 10 matches had him in 27th spot after Round 8. A more convincing display followed soon after, with MTTY stringing together 8 wins from his next 10 to slip into the top 16. He fell out the week after, but stormed home winning 8 of his next 9 to finish comfortably in 10th spot.

MTTY won at least 1 match every week in SC. When he slipped into the top 4 at the end of round 3 with 5 wins from 6, MTTY would incredibly stay there for the rest of the season. Was on top of the ladder at the end of rounds 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, and 18, and was a game clear on top with 1 round remaining. Unfortunately could only manage 1 win from his last 3, and slipped to 3rd, but no one could take away this very impressive season MTTY, so impressive, he took home the inaugural m0nty medal for the best player in the League Cup.

Knock-Out Cup

A 144 point victory over chrisuzz in round 1 of the DT cup sent MTTY into round 2, but ran into Marcz and was knocked out. Finished 11th.

More success in SC and was seeding 9th. A victory of benjy in week 1, was followed by hard fought 27 point victory over MajorLazer in week 2. Faced off against giant-killer roo boys! in week 3, took no mercy, and came out 163 point victors. His opponent in the final four was CrowsFan, but couldn’t continue his streak, and eventually finished 4th.

Finals

In Overall DT, MTTY ran into thornz23 in week 1, and his season ended very abruptly with 157 point hiding.

In All-Stars DT, lost to elephants in the first qualifying final, which sent him to the semi-finals against valkorum. A tight match results in a 79 point victory to MTTY, and he progressed to the preliminary final. His preliminary final opponent was Flame, whose form couldn’t be denied, and MTTY went down by 144 points.

In Overall SC, disaster struck. Finishing 3rd on the ladder and expected to make a run for the flag, however, Prospector_1 had other ideas, scoring a mammoth 2,491 to eliminate MTTY from the running. Heart-breaking end to a terrific season by MTTY.

In All-Stars SC, MTTY had a convincing win over CrowsFan in the qualifying finals to earn him a path straight to the preliminary finals. In the prelim, came up against dynamic duo bomberboy and Luigi, and even there combined force could not stop MTTY qualifying for the Grand Final with an easy 213 point victory.

MTTY’s Grand Final opponent would be BoredSaint, whose run to the Grand Final had been impressive, but ultimately class prevailed and MTTY took home a very well earned All-Stars Premiership with a 101 point triumph.

Rivalries

Played only 1 team 4 times for the year – strangely all in SC – and that was CrowsFan, which turned into a 3-1 record in MTTY’s favour. Interesting rivalry, with MTTY defeating CrowsFan in the All-Stars qualifying final, but CrowsFan knocking MTTY out in the final 4 of the KO Cup. Both elephants (0-3) and reesbr (0-3) had him covered, while he had the better of benjy (3-0), Hellopplz (3-0) and korza (3-0).

Just about the most competitive team across both competitions, but did not take home a big trophy.

Regular Season

Incredibly, McRooster won at least one match every single week of the regular season, to never be in danger of missing the finals. Started well, to sit in 2nd spot after the first 2 rounds, and with 1 round left, was sitting in top spot! However, winning 2 of the last 3 matches was not enough to hold onto top spot – or even second spot – as browny_wce and elephants pipped him by only percentage.

SC was a different story. Could not string enough wins together consistently, and although he popped his head into the top 16 at the end of round 9, slipped out soon after, and even a 3 match burst at the end couldn’t quite get him there, finishing 18th for the season.

Knock-Out Cup

Seeded 4th in DT, McRooster had an easy victory in week 1 over Alex7089, but fell to reesbr in week 2 to eventually slip to 16th.

Defeated in the first round in SC by the bomberboy and Luigi combo, to finish 25th eventually.

Finals

Terrific first up encounter in the Overall DT finals against fellow All-Star valkorum, was a tightly fought match, one of the matches of the year, but valkorum came up victorious by 21 points, knocking out McRooster from contention.

Faced off against browny_wce in the All-Stars DT finals in an elimination final, and in an even closer fought match, McRooster came out the victor by only 12 points. However, Marcz would defeat McRooster by 49 points in the following Semi-Final.

Did enough in the minor Overall SC finals to finish 19th overall, and steal a deserved spot in the SC Champions league.

Made the All-Stars SC finals, and comfortably accounted for Boomz in the elimination final, and smashed CrowsFan in the semi-finals to qualify for the Preliminary final! Unfortunately for McRooster, he hit BoredSaint in good form, and fell short by 109 points to miss out on the All-Stars Grand Final, to finish 3rd.

Rivalries

Some interesting rivalries, with many teams played 4 times throughout the year. Included Boomz (1-3), Marcz (2-2) and naste (3-1). Defeated benjy and Fletch both 3/3 times, and the only team that McRooster played twice or more and DIDN’T win a match against was Cruiseon (0-2).

Regular Season

Bookended his Dream Team season impressively, but a struggled during the middle part of the year. After a lightning start to the season, Marcz had won 9 of his first 10 matches, and was a game clear on top of the ladder. However, the wheels fell off a bit, winning only 3 of his next 12, to sit perilously close to falling outside the top 16, before he regained his winning form, and all the momentum, to win his last 9 matches to shoot up to 6th spot.

Started reasonably well in SC, the highest score in round 1, winning 4 of his first 6, and 6 of his first 10, to be in 11th spot after round 8. But his last 21 matches yielded only 5 wins, and faded away to 26th spot, miles away from the finals.

Knock-Out Cup

The top seed in the DT KO Cup, Marcz had a fright in round 1, only defeating Hilly by 19 points, before a very steady 202 point victory over Marcz in week 2 sent him to the final 8. However, scored his lowest score of the year (1,686) and was knocked out by elephants (1,713) in an extremely low scoring affair, finished in 6th position.

Seeded 3rd in SC, Marcz had an easy victory over hawka26 (249 points) and a comfortable victory over Maca24 in week 2 (124 points). Again, week 3 was to be his downfall, falling to BratPack by only 10 points, and would finish in 5th position.

Final

Very interesting finals campaign. On a 9 match winning streak, Marcz had all the momentum in the DT finals. In the overall competition, faced off against BratPack and got revenge for his SC KO Cup loss, with a 53 point victory. The final 8 had Marcz line-up against valkorum, and Marcz proved the stronger team, winning that encounter by 169 points.

The final 4 had him up against the impressive thornz23, but again Marcz’s momentum was too much, and thornz23 went down by 141 points. Of course, he would meet CFC 1979 in the Grand Final, and Marcz’s very impressive winning streak came to an end, with a 137 point loss to the Dream Team runner-up.

The All-Stars DT finals had Marcz lose his first week against Flame by only 10 points, sending him to a semi-final encounter against McRooster, where a tight 49 point victory progressed him to the Preliminary Finals. Took on elephants, and although the bookies couldn’t split them, Marcz came out 116 point victors. The Grand Final would again be against Flame, and unfortunately for Marcz, would lose 2 Grand Finals in a week, not be able to reverse his Qualifying loss, and would go down by 116 points.

Nothing of real interest in the SC competition, apart from a 2,515 to 2,505 point victory over hawk_88 in the All-Stars minor elimination final to avoid the wooden spoon play-off.

Rivalries

A couple of rivalries developing from finals, and I’m sure Marcz would love revenge against either Flame (1-2) and CFC 1979 (1-2) for his Grand Final losses. BratPack rivalry (1-3) is interesting, with Marcz one victory coming in the finals.
